Polyethylene foams

Plastazote® and Ethafoam® are trade names for polyethylene foams that are available in several thicknesses or blocks. They come in a range of colours, although black and white are most commonly used. Thinner sheets can be cut easily with scissors or a scalpel, while thicker sheets are usually cut with a longer, sharp knife or a bandsaw. It can be used as a cushioned base for objects, or shapes can be cut out of it for objects to be placed in.
