Lindsay Herbert

Lindsay Herbert is Global Chief Innovation Officer, IBM Garage GBS & IBM Inventor. She is also the author of the book Digital Transformation, which published internationally with Bloomsbury in December 2017. At IBM, Lindsay uncovers new solutions to answer major industry challenges. This includes working with start-ups, launching pilots, trialling emerging technologies, as well as forging cross-sector collaborations.

Among Lindsay’s inventions is IBM Instant Checkout, a ground-breaking system that detects shop items without needing to individually scan them, and then enables rapid and secure payment. As an innovation expert, Lindsay’s core message is that ‘digital transformation’ really just means to be more adaptive to change itself – achieved by transforming an organisation’s culture and ways of working, than by imposing complex technical solutions.
