Recharge Programme 2024-25

The Recharge programme provides in-depth MDO support and grant funding to help London Museums respond to increasing challenges, such as changes to visitor behaviour post pandemic, rising costs and addressing increasing effects of climate change, without any increase in their budgets.

With this in mind Art Fund, working in partnership with Museum Development, is generously making funding available towards projects that might help museums with projects around three key themes of developing the use of collections in new ways, audience development and volunteer and workforce development.

Recharge programme 2024-2025

Deadline for applications: by 5:00 pm on Monday 8 July 2024

Through this programme, four museums will be supported to carry out a self-assessment, using the MD Organisational Healthcheck Tool. A total grant fund of £10,000 is available for this programme.

Each museum will receive an Advisory Report, geared around the key three priorities identified and will be eligible for a grant of up to £2,500, generously funded by Art Fund, towards projects around three key themes:

  1. Developing the use of collections in new ways
  2. Audience development
  3. Volunteer and workforce development

Applications are invited from museums that are interested in strategic approaches to develop strong and flexible organisations that can adapt and respond to challenge, both expected and unexpected and to the changing needs of the communities they serve. Applicants are required to ensure that their projects address equality and accessibility.

Timescale: Projects will need to be completed by 5:00 pm Monday 3 March 2025
